High alert in Mumbai following blasts in Ahmedabad

Mumbai, Jul 26 (UNI) High alert has been sounded in Mumbai today, following serial bomb blasts at five places in Ahmedabad and security has been tightened at all sensitive places in the city.

According to senior police officials, security had been beefed up at all crowded places, especially the places of worship like Siddhivinayak temple in Central Mumbai, Mahalakshmi temple in South Mumbai and all the railway stations.

The city police have organised nakabandis at most of the junctions in the city and many people have been questioned by the police in connection with the blasts.

Yesterday, eight low intensity bomb blasts rocked Bangalore in Karnataka.
