CM displeased over implementation of Mazdoor Suraksha Yojana

Bhopal, Jul 26 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed displeasure over delay in distribution of identity cards under the Mukhyamantri Mazdoor Suraksha Yojana.

At a review meeting of this scheme, the Chief Minister instructed to seek explanation from Collectors and Chief Executive Officers of District Panchayats of 11 districts in this connection, an official release here said.

These districts include Rajgarh, Guna, Datia, Jhabua, Khargone, Burhanpur, Ujjain, Ratlam, Shajapur and Neemuch.

He said action taken report on his previous instruction for effective implementation of the scheme should be sought from all these districts without delay. Implementation of the scheme should be ensured by relaunching campaigns in all the districts after reviewing the action taken reports. The Chief Minister also instructed to requisition district-wise information about number of beneficiaries.

Those present at the meeting included Women and Child Development and Social Justice Minister Kusum Mehdele, Labour Minister Jagdish Deora, Additional Chief Secretary Ranjana Choudhary, Principal Secretary Women and Child Development Tinu Joshi, Secretary Labour P C Meena and Commissioner (Panchayat and Social Justice) Dr M Mohan Rao.

''Strict action would be taken against officers if found guilty of laxity in effective implementation of the Mukhyamantri Mazdoor Suraksha Yojana,'' he said.

The meeting was informed that 9,750 labourers have been benefited by the scheme so far. They have been given Rs 2.11 crore under various provisions of the scheme. The heads under which benefits have been given include maternity assistance, stipends, last rites of deceased, marriage, talented student prize, medicare, Aam Admi Beema Yojana and ex-gratia assistance in case of accident.

So far, 13.42 lakh have been registered and identity cards issued to 10.18 lakh labourers. During the registration campaign, 14.60 lakh applications were received out of which 1.17 lakh were rejected after scrutiny.

The meeting was informed that identity cards have been issued in the names of heads of the families. All the members of a family are entitled to avail benefits under the provisions of the scheme, the release added.
