Bomb Squad defuses a bomb near Forum mall in the city

Bangalore, Jul 26(UNI) A live Bomb found near the Forum Mall in Koramangala area was defused in front of anxious public by the Bomb Squad members here this morning.

Passersby who noticed the object immediately reported to the police and the bomb defusal squad was summoned. Within minutes the bomb was deactivated. Search was on for the miscreants in this regard, according to the city Polic Commissioner Shankar M Bidari who visited the spot.

He told newsmen here that around 1045 hours a person aged about 25 to 26 years wearing a red shirt placed the bomb on a footpath and ran away. The materials found in the object was a microchip, explosive materials, a detonator and oil. The object was found similar to those used by miscreants yesterday, he added.

The object caused panic among the public who gathered at a distance even as the bomb disposal squad members deactivated the object in full view of the public. Traffic on the Bangalore-Hosur highway was diverted as a precautionary measure.
