High Alert in Kangra temple towns

Dharamshala, Jul 25 (UNI) In the wake of the serial bomb blasts in Bangalore, a high alert has been sounded and security stepped up in temple towns of Kangra district which attract pilgrims in thousands during the Shrawan mela.

Kangra District Police Chief Dr Atul Fulzele said that the police had tightened the security around Kangra, Jawalamukhi, Chamunda, Bajjreshwari temple and Baijnath temples this afternoon.

He said that police personnel in civil dresses have been put on duty and dog and bomb disposal squads have also been kept in readiness to deal with any untoward incident.
