Godrej Consumer Q1 net up at Rs 39 cr

{image-Godrej logo_25072008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Mumbai, Jul 25: Godrej Consumer reported a marginal increase in net profit at Rs 39 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2008. Sales increased by 26 per cent to Rs 362 crore. The board has recommended an interim dividend of 75 per cent. An offical release issued today said high input costs and investment on A &P spend subdued the profits. International operations -- Keyline, Rapidol and Kinky performed encouragingly, the release added.

Adi Godrej, chairman and managing director, Godrej Consumer, said, ''Sales continued to be strong during the quarter under review, with both our soaps and hair colourant businesses performing well. Our international operations too have delivered healthy numbers. I look forward to an improved performance.''
