Attacks on rebel BJP MPs unjustified: Cong
New Delhi, Jul 25 (UNI) The Congress today said it was an ''irresponsible stand'' by the BJP to justify the attacks on the houses of rebel MPs who voted for the trust vote on July 22, and asked the Opposition party to apologise to those MPs.
''Being a responsible party, the BJP should not have justified the attacks at an offical press briefing,'' Congress spokesman Shakeel Ahmed told reporters.
''The BJP should take back those remarks made at the official briefing and apologise to those MPs,'' he said.
Yesterday, about a 100-odd activists of the youth wing of the BJP attacked the residence of rebel party MP Chandrabhan Singh in high security North Avenue area here.
Reports of similar attacks on other rebel MPs have also been received.
The BJP has expelled eight MPs who defied the party whip during the trust vote.
