Two more succumb to malaria, death toll rises to 55
Mumbai, Jul 24 (UNI) Two more people succumbed to Malaria today, taking the death toll due to rain-related ailments in the Metropolis to 55, since the onset of monsoon this year.
According to civic officials, a 18-year-old boy and an eight-year- old girl, who were admitted to civic-run KEM and Nair hospitals on July 22, succumbed to the disease.
So far, 19 deaths have occurred due to malaria.
The officials said in the last two days, 175 patients have been admitted for fever, 60 for gastroenteritis, 12 for leptospirosis, 2 for dengue and 76 for malaria in the various civic-run hospitals in the city.
