Speed boats for marine police stations: DIG
Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, July 24 (UNI) The Union Home Ministry will soon supply two high speed motor boats for marine patrolling to the two marine police stations in Eluru Range comprising three districts -- East Godavari, West Godavari and Krishna.
Addressing a press conference here today, DIG, Eluru Range, Mr Hassan Reza said both the stations would be strengthened by deploying the police personnel with adequate orientation on controlling crime on seas. He said nearly 3,000 police constables and 250 police sub-inspectors were being added to the existing strength in the range soon.
Already 32 newly recruited and trained SIs and equal number of promotee SIs were allotted to East Godavari for deployment, he added. The DIG said five more traffic police stations -- one in East Godavari and four in West Godavari -- were sanctioned. They would start functioning during August.
Earlier, inaugurating the two-day range level 31st Police Duty Meet at the Police Grounds here, he called upon the three district teams to avail the opportunity to exhibit their skills in scientific investigation, finger prints, videography and photography besides obtaining clues using dog squads.
