No change in government stand on Ram Setu: Congress
New Delhi, Jul 24 (UNI) The Congress today said there was no change in the stand of the government vis-a-vis the Ram Setu at Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu where the multi-crore Sethusamudram project is being built.
AICC Spokesman Manish Tewari told mediapersons that the stand of the government was included in the counter-affidavit filed before the Supreme Court. When his attention was drawn to the reports about the government counsel arguing in the apex court that Lord Ram himself had demolished the Ram Setu, the Spokesman said, "He has to make argument within the broad parameters of the counter-affidavit." "You cannot take one statement during the course of the argument in isolation and spin it out of context," Mr Tewari said, adding that "the government counsel had been arguing the case for five days and it should be taken in its totality."
