21-year-old labourer dies after falling in ditch at Metro site
New Delhi, Jul 24 (UNI) Inadequate safety measures led to yet another accident at the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) site today when a 21-year-old labourer died after falling in one of the ditches at its Bijawasan construction site this afternoon.
The Fire Brigade said the incident took place about 1400 hrs while the labourer, Dinesh, was working at the metro site where construction of the Bijawasan station, in Dwarka Sector 23, was on.
''He fell into a ditch which was full of water.'' Dinesh was pulled out and rushed to the Rao Tula Ram Hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Metro sources refused to confirm the accident, even five hours after the incident, saying they had no knowledge of the happening.
