Trust vote win is victory of UPA policies: HPCC

Shimla, Jul 22 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) today congratulated Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on winning the confidence vote in the Lok Sabha and termed it the victory of the party's policies and programmes.

''The UPA Government's victory in the yesterday's vote of confidence is the victory of its policies and programmes, while unmasking the opportunistic alliance of the United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) and the BJP,'' HPCC president Kaul Singh Thakur said in a release here.

He said the vote had not only set the tone for the successful completion of the India-US Nuclear deal, but was also a referendum of the party's performance in the last four years in office.

''However, the BJP has not accepted the verdict gracefully and is resorting to cheap politics, which is a blot on the democracy,'' he added.

Mr Thakur said the BJP's morale had taken a severe beating by its failure in dislodging the UPA Government through its ''evil designs''.

He also thanked other parties which supported the UPA Government in the vote of confidence.
