Dalmia Cement Q1 profit down by 38.34 pc, at 50.4 cr

{image-Dalmia Cement_23072008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Mumbai, Jul 23: Dalmia Cement has posted stand-alone profit of Rs 50.4 crore for its Q1 ended as on June, relflecting a drop of 38.34 per cent against Rs 81.8 crore for the same quarter in previous fiscal.

Net sales of the Company for the quarter rose by 19.08 per cent to Rs 414.5 crore, while total income for the quarter rose 0.78 per cent to Rs 423 crore compared to the corresponding period last year, a release issued on Wednesday, July 23 stated. During the same quarter, interest cost increased 54.10 per cent to Rs 34.4 crore, while depreciation cost fell 3.57 per cent to Rs 20.5 crore over corresponding period in the last fiscal. EPS of the Company for FY09 Q1 stood at Rs 6.24, a slide of 67.42 per cent against corresponding period in previous fiscal, added the release.
