Any sacrifice for the unity of UPA: Koda
Ranchi, Jul 23 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today said the state's politics will gain strength and will progress faster after United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government's victory in the trust vote in Parliament yesterday.
''We are ready to make any sacrifice for the unity of the UPA,'' he said.
Talking to mediapersons at his residence after returning from Delhi, he ruled out the possibility of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Shibu Soren becoming Chief Minister of the state or his son Hemant Deputy Chief Minister, saying there were no such talks.
Mr Koda supported a 13-point demand list of the JMM Chief which was submited by Mr Soren to the Centre for the development of the state and said those should be met with.
He supported the Indo-US civil nuclear deal and said the pact was a must for the development of the country. ''The MPs of other parties have also supported the deal after listening to the voice of their inner soul,'' he said.
Mr Koda demanded action against those MPs who have tarnished the image of Parliament by enacting a false drama of horse-trading.
