Modak Sagar lake reaches overflow level
Mumbai, Jul 22 (UNI) Modak Sagar, one of the six lakes supplying water to the city has reached its overflow level, thereby reducing some of the worry lines of the municipal officials.
According to civic officials, Modak Sagar reached the overflow level at 2117 hrs yesterday.
Water levels of Tansa, Upper Vaitarna and Bhatsa lakes have increased marginally by 0.01 meters THD (tendring hundred), 0.09 meters MSL (middle sea level) and 0.20 meters MSL respectively, thereby taking the levels to 123.74 THD, 597.96 MSL and 112.85 MSL.
Meanwhile, the water levels of Vihar and Tulsi lakes has remained unchanged in the last 24 hours.
It may be recalled that the city is facing a 15 per cent water cut since July 1.
