MCX metals, energy composite index rises

Mumbai, July 22 (UNI) The composite index of metals and energy moved up by 0.83 per cent at 3117.44 points in the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) today.

Bullion contracts continued to recover, with Gold August 08 contract gaining by 1 per cent at Rs 13,438 per 10 gms and silver September 08 contract by 1.25 per cent at Rs 26,020 per kg.

Platinum September 08 contract went up by 0.94 per cent to Rs 26,000 per 10 grams, an MCX release said.

Most metal contracts gained, including copper August 08 contract, which rose by 1.18 per cent at Rs 351.75 per kg, lead July 08 and lead August 08 contract rose by 3.95 per cent at Rs 92.05 per kg and 3.97 per cent at Rs 92.95 per kg respectively.

Zinc September 08 contract by 2.83 per cent at Rs 83.55 per kg.

However, aluminium September 08 contract receded by 1.12 per cent at Rs 132.10 per kg and nickel August 08 contract by 0.19 per cent to Rs 895.90 per kg, the release added.
