Heroin worth Rs one cr seized from Congo national

Mumbai, Jul 22 (UNI) The officers of Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) today nabbed a Congo national at Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport here and seized from him one kg of heroin worth Rs one crore in the international market.

According to AIU's release, the passenger was travelling to Kinshasha via Adis Ababa by Ethiopial Airlines flight on the intervening night of July 21-22. On suspicion, he was intercepted and examination of his baggage with the help of sniffer dog resulted in recovery of one kg of cream-coloured powder, which was concealed in the false top of a suitcase.

He was arrested under the NDPS Act, 1985, the release added.
