CPI won't allow Lankan leaders to visit TN:Pandiyan
Madurai, Jul 22: The Communist Party of India (CPI) cadres will not allow the Sri Lankan President, Prime Minister and officials to visit Tamil Nadu and wave black flags at them as a mark of protest against the killing of innocent Tamil fishermen by the Lankan Navy, CPI state secretary D Pandiyan has said.
Talking to newspersons on Monday, July 21, he accused the Sri Lankan government of failing to order their troops not to resort to firing against innocent fishermen. Mr Pandiyan said the party would not hesitate to stage a statewide stir against the Union Government, if it failed to protect the lives of the country's fishermen. The party workers would lay a seige to the Sri Lankan Consulate office in Chennai on July 30 to express the feelings of six crore Tamil people on the fishermen issue, he added.
