4 drug peddlers arrested, heroin worth Rs 3 crore seized

Lucknow, Jul 22 (UNI) Police arrested four drug peddlers in Cantonment area of Gorakhpur district and seized 3 kg heroin worth Rs 3 crore in the international market.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Special Task Force (STF) initiated vehicle checking drive near Madnipur, where they intercepted four motorcycle-borne.

On being frisked, the contraband was seized from their possession, which had a seal of 'made in Afghanistan' on it, SSP Vikas Tripathi said.

During interrogation, the quartet divulged that they worked for one Brijesh Yadav of Malhan area in Gorakhpur.

Earlier, Brijesh was apprehended with heroin in Varanasi.

A case has been registered and interrogation was on to spill beens about the narcotic racket.

Yesterday also, police held three people with 750 gms of heroin worth a crore.
