Yasmeen Raja to head women committee of HC, Abbas to head HR

Srinagar, Jul 20 (UNI) Yasmeen Raja will head the committee for women while Moulana Abbas Ansari will head Human Rights (HR) committee in the moderate Hurriyat Conference (HC) led by Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq.

A spokesman of the HC said today that the Executive Council, the highest decision making body of the amalgam, met here at its Rajbagh headquarters and discussed the latest prevailing situation in the Jammu and Kashmir.

He said it was decided to appoint Yasmeen Raja as head of the committee on women. She will be assisted by two women, who will be nominated by her.

Former chairman of the HC Moulana Abbas Ansari will head the HR committee while Sheikh Abdul Aziz will head the committee constituted for establishing mass contact with the people.

Mr Aziz will be assisted by Syed Saleem Geelani, Zafar Akbar Bhat and Javid Ahmad Mir.

The legal cell of the HC will be headed by Aga Syed Hassan Almousvi, he said.
