Police arrest killers of PMC secretary and his wife

Patna, Jul 20 (UNI) Patna police arrested two criminals from Kesopatti village in Samastipur district yesterday in connection with the murder of Patna Municipal Corporation secretary Manzar Alam and his wife.

The criminals had been identified as Soni alias Amanullah and Islam.

Three cell phones, two handcuffs and some jewellery were recovered from their possession, police said.

However, the actual motive behind the killing was yet to be ascertained.

Police suspected that the murder was plotted in Samastipur and four criminals were involved.

The arrested criminals were being interrogated.

The high profile couple were killed at their residence at Haroon Nagar Phulwarisharif locality here on July 2, 2008.
