Villager murdered over minor issue
Kapurthala, Jul 19 (UNI) A farmer was allegedly was attacked with sharp edged weapons and murdered in Talwara village of the district this morning, police here stated.
According to the police, Santokh Singh (52) was murdered allegedly by four persons of the same village over a minor dispute related to the cutting of branches of a tree. Police has identlified the murderers as Joginder Singh , his wife Manjit kaur, daughter Baljit Kaur and son Taranjit Singh.
According to police, the deceased had a minor scuffle with the accused, Taranjit Singh on July 17 when the former asked him not to cut the branches of a tree planted outside his house and a compromise was reached between both the parties. All the accused today attacked Santokh Singh with a sharp edged weapon when he was returning home after paying obeisance in a Gurdwara and seriosuly injured him .
Later Santokh Singh succumbed to his injuries in a hospital.
Police has registered a case of murder against Joginder Singh, Manjit Kaur, Baljit Kaur and Taranjit Singh and arrested three of them.
