PWD Minister releases book on epilepsy
Mumbai, Jul 19 (UNI) State Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Chhagan Bhujbal here released a book on epilepsy - ''Conquering Epilepsy'' written by Craol D'Souza here.
''In this country, where people need to be educated about epilepsy, the book would prove to be helpful,'' Mr Bhujbal said at the release function yesterday, which was supported by Mumbai-based Non Government Organisation (NGO)- ''We Love India''.
Praising the people in the book, Mr Bhujbal said they should be admired for having the courage and sharing their experiences to the world.
Author, Carol D'Souza, an epileptic patient said, ''The moment people hear that a person is an epileptic, he is denied jobs, work and other opportunities in life. This book is to sensitise people about epilepsy and bring forward those who are shy about their condition.'' Epilepsy affects almost one per cent of the population irrespective of caste, creed or economic background, the author added.
