Two held with arms in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jul 18: Security forces have arrested two suspected militants, including a medical employee, in the Kashmir Valley overnight, official sources said today.

They said Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police, 52 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and 16 Field Regiment conducted a joint operation at Tangmarg in Baramulla district.

During the operation, one Abdul Majid Mir, field worker of Sub District hospital Tangmarg was arrested.

Later, on his disclosure security forces recovered one Chinese pistol with two magazines and 16 rounds of ammunition from the hospital.

They said 2 RR and 52 RR apprehended Bashir Ahmad Gojri at Chechloora Magam in the central Kashmir district of Budgam, along with six grenade fuses, two pistol magazines, fifty rounds, one IED battery and one earphone.
