Load shedding increased in urban areas
Mumbai, Jul 18 (UNI) The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation (MSEDC) has increased load shedding by an hour in all urban areas from tomorrow.
The power utility has taken this decision in the wake of Maharashtra facing a shortfall of nearly 4,000 MW and the crunch is increasing day by day due to scanty rainfall in the state. Only 9,300 MW of power is available.
In highly industrialised urban areas, the load shedding will be from four to seven hours. In other urban areas, it will be from seven to 8.5 hours, while in the rural areas it will be for 11 hours, according to an official release said here today.
