Cases against printing press employees in Pondy

Puducherry, Jul 18: Police today registered cases against three employees of the government printing press here for allegedly locking up the room of the Director of the printing and stationary department Mr Malakannan yesterday.

It may be recalled that the emplyees of the printing press, who organised a demonstration in front of the press last evening had allegedly locked up the room of the director. When the Director came to his office, he found his room locked and left the premises.

Later, he lodged a complaint with the police who enquired about the incident and registered cases against the three.

The employees were demanding regularisation of their service and hike in their wages, among other things.
