Army jawan injured in firing near LoC

Jammu, Jul 18 (UNI) An Army jawan was injured after being fired by some unidentified militants from across the Line of Control (LoC) in the forward area of Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district, official sources here said today .

Official sources said the personnel, identified as Pachdaa of 5 Assam Regiment, was injured after being fired by some unidentified people from across the Line of Control (LoC) at the forward post Poona in Mendhar area yesterday.

''The unidentified miscreants opened fire near LoC in which the jawan sustained bullet injuries and was shifted to the Northern Command hospital for treatment,'' sources told UNI.
