Lawyer of SIMI activists beaten up in MP
Dhar, MP, July 17 (UNI) A lawyer, engaged in securing bail for banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activists arrested a few months back in Madhya Pradesh, was severely beaten up by unidentified persons in the local court premises while exiting today, police said.
Ujjain district-resident Advocate Noor Mohammad was assaulted earlier also and he had been told to inform police before coming here. A case was registered against six people in connection with today's incident.
SIMI leader Safdar Nagori and three associates are to be presented in court here on July 22. The accused are incarcerated in Mumbai.
