Depressed youth climbs up 100 feet water tank, threatens suicide
Howrah, Jul 17 (UNI) A youth today climbed up a 100-foot water tank, threatening to commit suicide in Tikiapara, near here.
Ganesh Mohan Agarwal, a student of IIT Kanpur and resident of Jamshedpur, came to his maternal uncle's home recently in Kolkata.
Police said Ganesh had come out alone this morning, when he suddenly decided to go up the tank and threatened committing suicide, when he was asked to come down.
Fire brigade officials, after a lot of persuasion, were able to bring him down after five hours.
His mother said he was mentally depressed and took the step out of sheer mental agony.
