Court orders to release money recovered from Verma to IT dept

New Delhi, Jul 17 (UNI) A local court today ordered to release the money recovered from Abhishek Verma, son of former Congress MP Veena Verma, to the Income Tax department.

A sum of Rs 3,99,000 was found from Verma's possession by the CBI. The Income Tax department had moved an application before the court for releasing the money to it stating that Verma owes dues of more than Rs 45 crore to the department.

On the contrary, Verma had stated before the court that the money be released to him. The city-based businessman is in judicial custody in connection with the 'Navy War-room leak' case.
