Thermax bags Rs 820 cr orders for coal-fired boilers
New Delhi, Jul 16 (UNI) Thermax Ltd, a power generation equipment maker, today said it has received orders worth Rs 820 crore from a major refinery for the supply of coal-fired boilers to its captive cogeneration plant.
The refinery, whose name was not disclosed, is expanding its capacity to process up to 35 million tonnes of crude per annum, a company statement said.
The refinery's captive plant will consist of 2,400 MW output equivalent boilers, which will be manufactured by Thermax, under technology licence from US-based Babcock and Wilcox Power Generation Group Inc, the statement said.
The supply of the boilers, with each having the capacity to generate 250 MW of electricity, will start 12 months from now and will be completed in 30 months, it added.
