Tata Metaliks announces 31.71 pc rise in net profit

Kolkata, Jul 16: Tata Metaliks on Wednesday, July 16 announced 31.71 per cent rise in its net profit at Rs. 20.23 crore for the first quarter of this fiscal from Rs. 15.36 crore during the corresponding period last year.

For the quarter ending June, 2008, the company's net sales surged by 48.88 per cent at about Rs. 315 crore while total income jumped by 48.36 per cent at about Rs. 321 crore. The company posted earnings of Rs eight a share, registering 31.58 per cent growth over the previous year period. During the quarter, the company disclosed a fall in operating margin of 319.24 basis points to 9.40 per cent on higher input cost.

Interest cost rose by 17.43 per cent to Rs 5.2 crore.
