6 cops hurt as CPI march turns violent
Kottayam, July 16 (UNI) Tension prevailed in the Collectorate area here for a few hours today when the CPI volunteers' march to the SP Office in protest against alleged police atrocities towards All India Student Federation (AISF) activists turned violent.
Six police persons sustained injuries in stone pelting. The police had to use teargas shells to disperse the violent mob.
A few AISF activists were taken into custody on Sunday when they tried to disrupt the nursing entrance examination here as part of a statewide agitation.
