UPA confident of winning the trust vote: Vyalar Ravi
New Delhi, Jul 15 (UNI) The Congress-led UPA Goverment is fully confident of winning the July 22 Confidence motion by over 280 votes, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vyalar Ravi claimed today.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Ravi said the Congress has asked its members to be in the Capital and similar directives have been issued by its allies to their respective members.
Responding to a question, Mr Ravi said Congress president Sonia Gandhi will meet the party MPs from other states on Saturday.
He also informed that in all, five MPs were in various jails and a process has been initiated through courts so that they can be present in the Lower House to cast their votes.
He said the CPI(M) has found an ally in BSP which had earlier at least on three occasions taken the support of the BJP to come to power in Uttar Pradesh.
The minister also informed that this is not the first time the CPI(M) is joining hands with the BJP and reminded how the V P Singh government came to power with the support of BJP and the Left parties.
