MP: Teachers threaten indefinite strike
Bhopal, Jul 15: More than a lakh teacher cadre employees regularised from among the Shikshakarmis in Madhaya Pradesh have threatened to go on indefinite strike from tomorrow to press for their eight-point charter of demands including merger of 50 percent dearness allowance with basic pay.
In a statement here today, Rajya Adhyapak Sangh President Murlidhar Patidar said the teachers had already been staging dharna at the state capital for the past 10 days but since no action was taken by the government, the Sangh had decided to resort to indefinite strike to exert pressure on the government.
Mr Patidar said the Sangh also demanded benefits of pension, gratuity, PF deduction and insurance cover.
