No trace of Delhi-based Pahuja family

Hardwar, Jul 15 (UNI) Uttarakhand Police investigating the mysterious disappearance of the Delhi-based Pahuja family today recovered five bodies from a canal in Muzzafarnagar but said they were not those of the missing family.

Five members of the Rohini-based Pahuja family had mysteriously disappeared from Hardwar district of Uttarakhand on June 24 and police suspect they could have drowned in the Ganga river or met with a road accident.

Talking to UNI, Senior District Police official Asin Shrivastav said search teams comprising the PAC and Jal Police had fished out five bodies from a canal in Muzzafarnagar along with a maruti car.

Incidentally, the family owned a similar vehicle.

However, relatives of the Pahuja's, who were on the spot with the search team, said the bodies were not of their family members.

Mr Shrivastav said the search operations would stretch till Muradnagar (Uttar Pradesh). Right now, the team was in Meerut, he added.

The Pahuja family was reported missing from Hardwar after returning from a trip to Mussorie in their own car. They were to return to Delhi on June 26.
