Gang decamps with Rs 15 lakh from SBI branch

Visakhapatnam, Jul 15 (UNI) A gang of five men today decamped with Rs 15 lakh from the State Bank of India(SBI) branch in the city here this morning.

The incident occured as soon as the bank was opened for the day at 10 am.

The dacoits, who were speaking in fluent Hindi and wielding country made revolvers took the bank Manager and the Head Cashier at gunpoint and made them to open the strong room. They then looted the amount.They also snatched Rs 20,000 from a customer.

A case of dacoity was registered at P. M. Police Station in the city.

The city Police Commissioner N. Sambhasiva Rao and District Police Superintendent Akun Sabharawal rushed to the scene of the crime.
