The high-level delegation visited Bhubaneswar station and held discussions with East Coast Railway (ECoR) General Manager A K Goyal and senior officers on development of World Class Station at Bhubaneswar.
The specialist team from China would submit its report to the Railway Board soon on the feasibility of having a World Class Station at Bhubaneswar which has been identified for development as a World Class Railway Station by Ministry of Railways.
Mr Goyal expressed hope that the specialist team would submit its report early and work on the World Class Station would start at the earliest.
He promised all help to the Chinese delegation and wanted that the world class station should not only be an architectural marvel but also become a corporate business centre.
The station, he said, would take into account the growth in passenger traffic for the next 30 years and also plan for peripheral commercial activity accordingly.
The new station would be built on the Public-Private-Partnership mode and would be the focal point of all industrial and transport activity of Eastern India, sources said.
