Centre releases calamity fund of Rs 65 crore
Shimla, Jul 15 (UNI) The Centre has released Rs 65 crore to Himachal Pradesh under the Calamity Relief Fund, state's chief secretary Asha Swaroop today said.
Presiding over the state level committee meeting here, she said that out of this Rs 41.20 crore have been received as first installment, besides a sum of Rs 36 lakh as balance funds of previous year for 2007-08.
Ms Swaroop said district-wise and department-wise allocation of funds were approved and released after detailed discussions in the meeting.
A sum of Rs 29 crore were proportionately allocated to all 12 districts whereas Rs 26 crore were released to various departments which include Rs 10 crore to PWD for repair and restoration of damaged works, Rs six crore to Irrigation and Public Health Department, Rs four crore to Power Department for repair and restoration of damaged works, Rs four crore to Agriculture and Horticulture departments for subsidy on fertilizers and seeds and Rs two crore to Urban Development for damaged works, she added.
