Indo-Bangladesh trade suffers following students agitation

Basirhat, Jul 14 (UNI) Indo-Bangladesh trade through Ghojadanga near here has been suffering huge loss following student-public agitation on the border.

More than a thousand trucks laden with export items remained stranded on a 6-km stretch between Basirhat and Ghojadanga for last three days due to student-public agitation following death of a student in a road accident on July 11.

Ghojadanga Clearing and Forwarding Agents Association secretary Kanti Dutta here today said that the suspension of trade for the last three days has incurred loss of crores of rupees.

He further alleged that students and people who had jointly observed a bandh for a day on July 13 in connection with the accident further removed a culvert of the road connecting the border, near Itinda Union High School to prevent traffic movement through the road.
