HC directs Pondy Court to hand over passport to Appu
Chennai, July 14 (UNI) The Madras High Court today directed the Puducherry District and Sessions Court to hand over the passport to Appu, one of the key accused in the Sankararaman murder case, in which two Kanchi Acharyas were cited as the prime accused.
Mr Justice D Suthanthiram passed the above direction on medical grounds that Appu alias Krishnasamy has travel abroad for medical treatment.
In his petition, Appu submitted that he underwent a heart surgery in the United States before his arrest in the case.
As he wanted to review his health condition in a hospital in the US, he prayed for release of passport to enable him to travel abroad for treatment.
Accepting his plea, Mr Justice Suthanthiram passed the above orders with a direction to Appu that he should surrender the passport back to the court within four months or immediately after his return from the US.
