WHO calls pharmacologists to assist in State Drug Policy
Puducherry, Jul 13 (UNI) World Health Organisation Regional Adviser has called upon pharmacologists to come forward to help governments frame the State Drug Policy.
Inaugurating a three-day annual conference of Southern Regional Indian Pharmacological Society at JIPMER Hospital here last night, Mr Krisantha Weerasurya said drug information centres should be established and details about drugs be given to the people in all languages.
He appealed to pharmacologists to work towards providing more information about drugs to patients and added though Pharmacology, as a subject, had evolved over a period of time, patients were yet to benefit from it.
Medical teachers should tell students about the importance of providing information on a drug they prescribed to patients, he added.
