SP to keep criminals at bay in LS election
Varanasi, Jul 13 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's son and party MP Akhilesh Yadav today said leaders with criminal backgrounds would not get the party's tickets in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Drawing a parallel between the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and his party, Akhilesh said the former provides shelter to the criminals, while the SP keeps them aside.
In no situation, leaders with tarnished image would contest election on SP tickets, the MP maintained.
In fact, the crime graph was witnessing an upward trend in UP as the BSP has 22 MLA's with criminal background, he charged.
The SP leader further rubbished the allegations that the CBI swing in action against BSP chief Mayawati for her disproportionate assets due to SP.
