Seminar on ''Translating India into English'' on Sep 4

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 13 (UNI) A national seminar on ''Translating India into English'' will be held here on September 4 and 5.

Noted writer and academician Dr U R Ananthamurthy would inaugurate the seminar in which eminent translation experts and professors like Dr E V Ramakrishnan from Gujarat University, Der Alladi Uma and Dr Sridhar from Central University, Hyderabad, would take part.

The seminar is being organised by the Central Institute of Indian Languages, Ministry of Human Resource Development, a release said here.

The Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore, a premier language and Linguistics Institute in the country, was entrusted with the task of working on all the Indian languages and empowering them for producing various kinds of materials, online and print on these languages, besides bringing out grammars and dictionaries, the release added.
