Portuguese government to start chartered flights from Goa
Panaji, July 13 (UNI) The Portuguese Government is keen to start chartered flights to Goa besides opening its tourism office in the city.
An assurance to this effect was given by visiting Portuguese foreign minister Luis Amado to a Goa government delegation, led by Home Minister Ravi Naik and Chief secretary J P Singh.
The Portuguese government also desired to undertake repairs and maintainence of old monuments, including palatial houses, which can be subsequently converted into ''Pousades'' (Rest houses) to benefit tourists.
The Minister showed interest in solving cases of evacuee properties so that the land can be returned to their rightful owners now that Portugal and India share friendly relations.
