IUML condemns desecration of prayer halls

Bangalore, Jul 12 (UNI) The Karnataka unit of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has condemned the desecration of prayer halls by throwing pig meats by miscreants which led to violent protests yesterday.

In a statement issued here today, IUML state secretary Ibrahim said the action of communal forces to harm the sanctity of Masjids had hurt the sentiments of the minority communities in the state.

Urging the police to take immediate precautionary measures against recurrences of such incidents, he appealed to the people belonging to minority communities to remain calm and maintain communal harmony in the state.
