Two crucial meetings to decide date for vote of confidence
New Delhi, Jul 11 (UNI) As the Manmohan Singh-led UPA government is readying to prove its majority in the wake of withdrawal of support by the Left parties on nuclear issue, two important meetings are scheduled for today to decide the date for the vote of confidence in the Lok Sabha.
A UPA meeting is scheduled for 1030 hrs at the Prime Minister's official residence at 7 Race Course Road here which will be attended by leaders of the Congress and the supporting allies to decide on when and how the trust vote would take place in the Lok Sabha.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during his meeting with President Pratibha Patil yesterday had told her that the date of Lok Sabha session to seek a vote of confidence will be decided by today.
Besides, Congress president Sonia Gandhi will chair a meeting of the Congress Working Committee at 1715 hrs. The meeting will also discuss the strategy to be adopted during the next Lok Sabha election.
