Girl swept away in river as monsoon furry continues
Jaipur, July 11 (UNI) A seven-year-old girl was today swept away in Brahmini river in the Begun sub division of Chittorgh District as monsoon furry disrupted normal life at different places in Rajasthan .
According to official reports, Mithalesh (7) was washed away in the strong current in the Brahmini River near Madawanda village this afternoon.
Police and villagers were making efforts to search the girl along the course of the river.
Several places in Chittorgarh and adjoing Pratapgrh District received heavy downpour during the past 24 hours creating flood like situation in low lying areas. Dhariawad town in the Chittorgh District recorded 23 cms rainfall.
The heavy rains threw normal life out of gear at several places in the desert district of Barmer. Several low-lying localities and villages in the Balotra sub division were also inundated. Heavy down pour also lashed Shive, Gadra Road, Chohtan, Ramsar and Siwana.
A number of places in Udaipur, Bhilwara, Jhalawar, Baran and Kota district's recorded rainfall between 17 cms and 7 cms during the past 24 hours.
