Principal taken into custody regarding Munda's assassination

Ranchi, Jul 10 (UNI) Police have taken into custody the principal of the school where JD(U) MLA Ramesh Singh Munda and three others were assassinated by naxalites yesterday in Bundu district.

The slain JD(U) legislator was attending a felicitation programme of S S School at Barihatu when armed naxalites opened indiscriminate firing on them.

Two bodyguards and a student sitting too close to the MLA were also killed in the incident.

Police detained principal Umesh Chandra Gyani for interrogation though no rpt no major headway was made so far in solving the crime.

Forensic team, sniffer dogs were pressed into operation, police said today adding raids were being caried out in the area.

However, Chief Minister Madhu Koda yesterday announced the government's decision to refer the case to Central Bureau of Investigation.
