CBI's move to file case against UP CM brazen
Hyderabad, Jul 10: Lok Satta President Jayaprakash Narayana today termed ''brazen, selective and discriminatory,'' the timing of the CBI's move to file a chargesheet against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati in the disproportionate assets case.
''The filing of the chargesheet against a political adversary on the eve of UPA facing a trial of strength in Lok Sabha merely exposed CBI's selective morality and tarnished its credibility,'' he said in a release here.
The motives of the government and the CBI in raking up the case against Mayawati has clearly shown the UPA's political trick to corner the BSP, Dr Narayana said, adding that the Centre and the State Governments should enact a law, facilitating confiscation of property of the guilty pending an inquiry.
