Student organizations protest fees hike

Tirupati, July 9 (UNI) Demanding roll-back of fees hike for engineering, MBA and MCA courses students organizations including SFI, TNSF and AISF today observed dharna in front of the ICET counselling venue in Sri Venkateswara University, where counselling was conducted for MBA and MCA students today.

About 100 students led by State SFI leader Jaichandra and District Secretary Sai Lakshmi, AISF district secretary Subramanyam and TNSF state leader Seshagiri earlier took out a procession to the counselling venue.

The counselling was disrupted for more than one hour following the protest.

Police arrested about 20 students.

Later, speaking to the media, the student wings warned of disrupting counselling slated for July 16 if the fees hike was not rolled back immediately.
